If you have skills or knowledge you’d like to share with the CPI community by hosting a workshop, class, permablitz or implementation, or other educational event, we want to talk!

Permaculture includes many disciplines, from garden and food forest planning, to natural building and renewable energy, to raising animals, to collecting and using rainwater, to preserving and preparing food, to market gardening, to indigenous wisdom and mind-body wellness. We welcome teachers with experience and insight in any topic tied to permaculture and sustainable living by design!

GOOD TO KNOW!

Making pancakes from Acorn Flour made for a cozy winter workshop in 2026. Our community is often looking for things to do and ways to stay connected in the winter, making it a prime window for indoor workshops.

  • We ask to receive applications with at least 4 weeks’ notice before the event, to allow us enough time to review the proposal, confirm details with you, and promote the event. Events with less lead time than this may have trouble securing a strong enrollment.

  • Blackout Dates / Popular Dates: The prime windows for offering workshops are September-November and January through June. We recommend avoiding holidays/holiday weekends and midsummer. Spring and fall are “peak season” but don’t overlook winter - many people are looking for ways to beat the seasonal blues and stay connected by nature!

  • Cooperation over Competition: We try to manage our event calendar in a way that limits competition between facilitators or competition with our partner organizations, many of whom also offer workshops. If your workshop proposal creates a conflict of interest or resources, our intention is to work with you to combine and align efforts in the interest of a mutually beneficial arrangement.

  • Outdoor Events and Weather: If your event could be impacted by weather, we strongly recommend having a backup plan or alternate date ready in advance.
