Give Our Home a Name
Cincinnati Permaculture Institute has recently become the proud owner of three properties along Enright Ave. in East Price Hill: the greenhouse, the icehouse, and…. this house, destined to be the new permanent home and headquarters of our organization. While we are and will remain CPI, we felt that each of the three spaces deserves its own moniker and sense of place, and none moreso than the corner building.
In its past, this combined residential and commercial location has been through a few different names, including Common Roots, Paradise Lounge, and Casey’s Corner. Our goal with a fresh new name is to help it shed its old identity as a bar and party zone, and inspire visitors (familiar faces and newcomers) to envision what’s to come: a multifunctional, indoor and outdoor, living and evolving demonstration of urban permaculture design available for year-round use.
Choosing the name
In June 2026, we asked our community to suggest for this space, as well as vote on some of the early names that had been brainstormed. That input was taken to the July board meeting and narrowed down to a final selection. The qualifying names are available to vote on until midnight on August 3, 2026, prior to our next board meeting. Note: The board has agreed to not use the names “the Hub” or “the Roots,” or variations of these, to avoid a confusing overlap with other organizations in the city of Cincinnati whom we consider friends and allies.
Use the poll below to choose your top two favorite names by August 3!
