Implementation Day: Trellising & Bed Designs
For this Implementation Day, together with April Pandora of Eden Urban Gardens, we will be building a trellis for next year's tomatoes using upcycled posts and welded wire, learning the tools and tricks, and covering different bed design benefits and challenges.
Eden Urban Gardens is a Certified Organic Farm located in Pleasant Ridge and Avondale, Cincinnati, Ohio and run by CPI graduate April Pandora. We will be at 33 Clinton Springs Ave 45217. Street parking available and restrooms around the corner. Dress for the weather - please wear tennis shoes or boots!
Implementation Days are envisioned as an “advanced” level of our permaculture education, and PDC graduates and certificate holders are eligible. If you have not taken a PDC, you may still participate in implementation days; however, these are not intended as introductory classes or substitutes for a permaculture design course

Permaculture Design Jam at Wondercade
Design jams are when we invite permaculture designers (of all experience levels) back to the table for a “quick-draw” design challenge in just a few hours!
For this jam, we’ll be visiting Wondercade, an arcade on a well-trafficked stretch of Harrison Avenue in the neighborhood of Westwood in Cincinnati. This triangular urban lot is home to several businesses and includes unused green space and opportunities for improved energy efficiency and use of the space, as well as cooperative connectivity to neighboring businesses and residents. CPI designer Ethan Walton will lead you in this improvisational challenge — we complete a little pre-analysis up front to get you started, then let you loose on some base maps to see what you come up with! Get creative, meet and mingle with other permies, and exercise your design muscles!
Free. Open to anyone who has completed or is currently enrolled in one of our courses, or who has taken a PDC from another provider, as well as neighbors and residents of Westwood who are interested in being involved!
