Volunteers Needed: Putting Plastic Roof on the Greenhouse!

Help with much needed roof maintenance at the Urban Earth Farms greenhouse, shared by CPI and Tending Roots Collaborative and neighbors on Enright! Learn wiggle wire system for fastening plastic greenhouse roof. Needs to be able to climb ladder on greenhouse roof and work from ladder. Full training will be provided. Sunday March 30 at 10a-2p (partial visits if you can’t do the whole four hours are very helpful). Will be working closely together to attach plastic to roof rails with wiggle wires in such a way that plastic is taut over the whole 100 foot length and 18 foot width of the roof.

St. Patrick’s Day is a celebration of Spring. The Greening of the Earth, the Magic of Life reborn. Join Ande “the Elf” and his special brand of magic to explore and enjoy this time of endless possibility. He will be joined by other permaculture teachers and practitioners and a group of Perma-curious folk for a day of learning, doing, discussing in a most playful, hands on, interactive way.

Here’s what’s in store:

  • Saturday, March 15, 9 am - 6 pm

  • Fast and fun introduction to PC principles and practices

  • Propagating native edibles to take home (Aronia berries)

  • Wild foraging and cooking with mushrooms and plants

  • Introductions to herbalism, goat care, soil building, natural building, social applications
